Chuck and Sarah are going out to dinner with Ellie and Devon, they are in a storage closet in the Wienerlicious discussing their cover stories so that their dating life sounds real. Sarah stages a seductive moment with Chuck when her boss opens the door to the storage room, flustering Chuck.

Chuck meets Lou at the Buy More, she’s a deli owner who needs her phone fixed. Morgan notices that Chuck seems to be interested in Lou.

On their date at a sushi restaurant, Chuck and Sarah are doing well with Ellie and Devon. When they leave the man poisoned earlier is staggering down the street and collapses in front of them. Ellie steps in to help and an ambulance takes him away with Ellie attending to him. The poisoner (Payne)is also at the scene and hears when Chuck announces Ellie’s name. Chuck also flashes on the man’s ID and realizes he is a bad guy.

When Ellie gets home, a worrying Chuck is relieved that she is safe. The poisoned man died and Chuck freaks out to Sarah. He’s very stressed about the lying he has to do to hide his spy life. Sarah reassures him then tells him they have to advance their cover by ‘making love’.

Beckman tells Sarah and Casey they need to investigate the dead man for codes he was carrying to some nuclear secrets. While the Buy More gang schemes against Harry Tang, Lou brings Chuck his namesake sandwich to thank him for fixing her phone. Sarah arrives and Chuck introduces them but does not want to tell Lou that Sarah is his girlfriend.

Sarah and Casey inspect the dead body as Chuck freaks out. Ellie is interrogated at home by Payne, who is posing as a police officer. He plants a disc on her skin. Casey and Sarah discover the dead man was poisoned.

Chuck talks to Sarah later at the Wienerlicious regarding their mission that evening. They will be spending the night together in his room. Chuck tries to explain to Lou why he appeared to be flirting earlier and tells Lou that his relationship with Sarah is complicated. She tells him she is interested but not into dating a guy who cheats. Sarah sees their interaction.

Chuck sets the mood in his room before Sarah arrives. She comes in with her hair done and wearing a negligee as ‘cover’ and shoots down Chuck’s attempt at a romantic mood. They have a moment of annoyance before going silent.

Payne is watching their apartment as Ellie becomes annoyed and confrontational with Devon, then goes to Chuck’s room to discuss his relationship with Sarah. Chuck and Sarah were interrupted by Ellie when Chuck is trying to define his and Sarah’s relationship. He sounds interested in dating outside their relationship and Sarah knows he likes Lou.

It seems obvious to Sarah that something isn’t right with Ellie.  Casey shows up, he heard Payne in his attempt to monitor Ellie. She passes out and they find the disc that poisoned her.  Casey watched their surveillance and knows Payne got to her. Chuck devises a plan to flush out Payne.

Chuck is telling Ellie his secret while she is unconscious, he finds the codes on a necklace in her sweater pocket. Sarah takes Ellie’s place as a trap for Payne and they have a confrontation in the hospital. They are all accidentally exposed to the poison but are able to get the antidote while chasing the guy. Chuck takes it and saves Ellie, all of them telling each other truths as a side effect of the poison. Chuck finds Payne’s personal device and they use it to find him. They capture him while continuing to blurt truths to each other.

Chuck takes advantage of the situation to ask Sarah if their relationship has a future. Before they take the antidote she tells him no. Harry Tang walks into the Theatre Room at the Buy More but finds Team Bartowski getting their briefing. Casey ‘handles it’  and arranges for Tang to be relocated.

Chuck visits Sarah at the Weinerlicious, tells her he needs to break up with her and goes out to see Lou.  Casey asks Sarah if she compromised herself with the asset.  She tells him she has been trained to resist the truth serum and didn’t compromise herself. Sarah watches Chuck with Lou.
